Dinosaurs! A perfect theme for any little boy. I made a 3D dinosaur cake for the birthday boy & then made 3 dozen matching cupcakes. The 3D cake was vanilla pound cake with vanilla buttercream icing. The cupcakes were french vanilla & chocolate with vanilla buttercream.
These were birthday cupcakes for someone who had just gotten a bunch of piglets to raise. They are french vanilla with almond buttercream and are very cute if I do say so myself!
I attend & am a member of my local MOPS group (Mother's of Preschoolers). We had our annual kids carnival on St. Patrick's Day. I contributed 124 mini cupcakes. They are vanilla & chocolate with vanilla buttercream & each cupcake was decorated with balloons.
They are the perfect size for little kids & one mom made the comment that they are "a shot of cupcake"! :)
This cake is a chocolate fudge cake with almond buttercream and covered in my homemade almond buttercream fondant. The customer wanted a colorful polka dot cake. The saying "Yay Fatty Necrosis" because this cake was a celebration for someone who has beaten cancer but had a recent scare that turned out to be a lump of fatty necrosis. This cake is a wonderful example of how sometimes simple really is best!
This is a lemon cake with vanilla buttercream & vanilla buttercream fondant. One of my friend's friends asked that I make a cake for our mutual friend's birthday today. She left the design up to me. I know that this friend isn't into an elegant or flowery cake. She wears a lot of neutral colors & is a very talented photographer. I decided to go with black, white & grey (although my grey turned green which I discovered was a reaction from the vanilla).
This is the final project.....
This is a picture that my friend sent me after she opened her cake & realized that the design matches her jacket! Totally unplanned but it's nice to hit a home run with the design and colors!
